As winter sets in I am thinking of you Maggie….

Run!!!! Go Maggie!

It’s been a while since I have blogged on your blog, Maggie.  Today is a good day to do it.  It has been snowing all day..and it’s really piling up after several days of it.  This weather really makes me think of you…  How tough winters were for you but yet you still did love the “white stuff” being of Northern breed descent(that’s a guess on my part!)

Ice was especially tough in the winter.  HATED it when things would ice over.  We are still making our snow sled trails in the yard…although have scaled back some now because you aren’t here with us.

The first time I go on our winter trails across the road today will not be the same without you.  You LOVED those trails!  Loved digging for frozen deer poop, loved helping me clean the trails with your great stick demolishing expertise and loved seeing and sniffing out winter wildlife.

I still miss you greatly….I suspect that will NEVER change…..

Missing you Maggie!

Maggie was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma on her left knee. She had amputation done on October 20, 2009. Four days after surgery she had a low grade fever and was off her food for two weeks! Trying times.. I am grateful and so pleased with how she is progressing now.

  1. These blogs go down too fast! But found you!

That Maggie is such a grande dog! Everytime I see her banner come up it just makes me smile. She definitely is a proud girl who accomplished so much in her earth life!

I love these pictures in the snow…she’s so happy! I went back and looked at again at the post prior to this one. I could look at her doing agility all day.

The bond betwee you two is remarkable! You truly are ONE.

I know you will miss her forever, especialky this timem of year. And I also know she will continue to make her presece kmown to you. Maybe the next time you walk the trails in the snow, you’ll see a stick that catches your eye. Yeah, that’s her saying she’s right by your side.

Thank you for continuing to share your journey with us AND pictures! Two beings, one heart, you and Maggie.

Surrounding you with Sweet Maggie’s eternal grace…and a whole bunch of sticks!!

  2. Maggie, we are thinking of you as well. With all of the news about the incredible amounts of snow that’s been falling in your neck of the woods, I can’t help but think that somewhere out there you are reveling in the snow, loving the cold and romping to your heart’s content.

One thing that will never change: your spirit, soaring over those beautiful trails.

    We miss you too.

  3. Thank you ladies!!! It totally warms my heart(and makes me cry!) reading your words! Maggie was an incredible soul NOT EVER to be forgotten! While I was packing down the trails a couple nights ago, I got to “Maggie’s Trail”, specifically named after her, I cried all the way through it! Have lots of brush cleaning to do on it…lots of branches have grown in since last winter…and Maggie I will have to do it alone this year…you won’t be there to help me clear the trail 🙁

    Ok,’nuff said…gotta stop crying!

    Love you guys!
