In Memory of Maggie….

….I was presented this wall hanging of Maggie this past weekend at a Wag It Games Trial!  Every dog that has competed in Wag It Games, that have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, get honored in this fashion.  This is sooo special…note the three paws in the corners of the hanging and the heart in the left bottom corner.  Maggie was the inspiration to the “Heart Dog Program” in Wag It Games,  for disabled dogs.  Disabled dogs can compete with exercise modifications for their disabilities….

You will NEVER be forgotten, Maggie, by myself and by MANY others….

“Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones;

And when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace.”

Maggie was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma on her left knee. She had amputation done on October 20, 2009. Four days after surgery she had a low grade fever and was off her food for two weeks! Trying times.. I am grateful and so pleased with how she is progressing now.

  5. Tracy that is BEAUTIFUL!!! Wow, love that quilt. Can you tell us who made it? I would love to find out, it’s a real treasure.

    What a wonderful group of friends you and Maggie have there.

  6. Thank you all for following Maggie’s blog and all your kind words!!! Rene, the person that made the wall hanging is Mary Joyce Grotton. We call her Joyce 🙂 She’s quite talented, as you can tell! The picture on it was taken back in November 2010. At the very first Wag It Games trial. Now, four+ years later, Wag It Games is really growing. I’m honored to be part of the venue and for Maggie to be the inspiration to the Heart Dog Program! So disabled dogs can play (compete) too!
