Walking on Old Stomping Grounds…

Hmmmm...something smells interesting!

Hey all!  I just had to report in on my old stomping grounds me and Mom have gone for a walk now twice!  She hasn’t been taking me up in these fields behind our house ’cause the grass was too long but now it’s mowed(but could stand to be a tad shorter to not tire out my tripawd legs).   But we tried it out a week ago and guess what!  I did great!  And no ill after effects of being too tired after, so we went up there again yesterday! Wahoo!  I LOVE it up in the fields!  Here’s some pictures of me and some video’s!  Aren’t I just the coolest Tripawd in Northern Maine?! 😉

Wait a minute....what do I smell????

And here’s a clip to what I smelled….well, shhhhh, I didn’t tell Mom what I rolled in…and there was no remnants of anything on my shoulder, so she’s not really sure!  She thinks it was a dead mouse ! 🙂

And here’s Mom playing hide and seek with me…I love this game 🙂

Here's me on me and Mom's "thinking rock"! Been a loooong time since I got up on this rock!

Me and Mom used to spend quite a few minutes each time we walked up in the fields before I was a Tripawd to stop and sit on our “thinking rock”.  It was a great place to take in the wonderful view of our town’s lake and our house down below!  The grass and bushes need to be cleaned out – guess we’re gonna venture up here more, so we’d better clean that out Mom!  Look at me!  I jumped right up on the rock and Mom didn’t even tell me to!  I remembered “our rock”! 🙂

So, I had another great walk yesterday…just thought I’d pass on some video’s and photo’s of it to show that Tripawds do in fact ROCK!  He-he, get it?  Me on a rock?  😉

One more picture of me thinking this was a GREAT walk Mom!  Thanks for letting me show you what I can do!

Keep on hoppin’!

Maggie

PS the orange bandana is cause it’s huntin’ season up here(even though it was Sunday, you just never know!) – although I don’t really think I look like a partridge(bird), do you?!?!  Stupid hunters – I don’t want them to mistake me for a BIRD!

Maggie was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma on her left knee. She had amputation done on October 20, 2009. Four days after surgery she had a low grade fever and was off her food for two weeks! Trying times.. I am grateful and so pleased with how she is progressing now.

  2. Maggie, I just love watching you move!
Say, do you have any Karelian Bear Dog in you? I got a catalog with a pic of one on the cover and it looks a lot like you.
BTW- your barking sure confused Obie- he looked but couldn’t find you under my desk!

  3. Did you roll in goose poo? Bat guano? No matter, anything smelly seems to satisfy, huh?!

It must have been nice to be back to your old happy place and thinking rock. It sure looked like fun.

I’m glad you found something good and stinky. Don’t forget that spot!!

  4. Thanks everyone! It’s a secret what I rolled in! Only *I* know! hehehe! 🙂

@Lincoln’s Mom – there was LOADS of goose poop on the private airstrip up there but to my mother’s surprise, I didn’t try to roll in that! LOL

@Karen – Opie’s Mom asked me at one point if I had Karelian Bear Dog in me! They sure do look like me, huh?! Wanna know what the DNA test said I have in me? Said my grandparents had GSD and my great grandparents had Dachshund!!! Do you see Doxie in me? Maybe it’s those short legs I have?! And here my Mom thought my mother was a GSD! Yup, we don’t put too much weight in that DNA testing!

  6. What a wonderful life you and your mom have. I can tell how much you love each other. The pictures and videos are great. Maggie, I love to play hide and seek with my folks too. They don’t stand a chance though. I’m glad you’re back to exploring your old stomping grounds. Be careful around all those crazy hunters. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Maggie, what a kick to see you out there. I used o go in the woods at my grandparents house and I always favored wither goose poop or “posseummmm” poop to roll in. Not doing too much of that these days but I did jump off a ledge at the park the other day and scared my owner lots! I was pretty proud!

  8. “Tell me you’re a good girl Maggie” “Bark!”. HAHA that made me crack up! Chloe doesn’t bark when she talks, she howls. It’s the funniest thing…I need to train her to do that on command to show her off like you can with Maggie!

No Maggie doesn’t look like a bird, the hunters would probably mistake her for a cow….

  9. Don’t ya’ like that on cue barking?! 🙂 The command is “tell me!” 🙂 But sometimes she “tells me” without me saying the command – LOL!
