2 Years Without You…

Two years have gone by since I said good bye to my best friend.  My SuperStar Maggie.  The old saying of ‘it gets easier with time’….well, it still isn’t happening for me.  Never will.  BEST.DOG.EVER.  My best friend…love you Maggie, love you very much..

Maggie was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma on her left knee. She had amputation done on October 20, 2009. Four days after surgery she had a low grade fever and was off her food for two weeks! Trying times.. I am grateful and so pleased with how she is progressing now.

  1. Awwww Maggie, sweet, sweet Maggie. We love you and your momma.

Whenever your pretty banner pops up on the site it always makes me smile. I can always hear your mom in your videos saying “Good girl Maggie! Good girl!” And you just loved hearing that.

We refer to you often on the site when people are concerned about how well their dogs will get along, especially if they’ve done agility work prior to amputation. Yep, you are still here inspiring others on thisn journey…still making a positive difference!

I remember the picture your mom posted of that beautiful rainbow over the field you used to go to. Maybe you could send her another sign you are okay and still here with her. I think it’ll make her feel real good!

Yep Maggie, you are wuite a Legend around here and will NEVER be forgotten! Sooooo glad your mom continues your blog so we can celebrate your amazing life.

Sending lots and lots of love today, and everyday.

  2. I get that Tracy, totally.

It’s hard to believe two years have gone by. Your connection and Maggie’s spirit remain stronger than ever here, all that you’ve shared and contributed to this community has helped us share Maggie’s inspawrational life and bring so much hope to others. There is just no way to know how many but I know in my heart that it’s TONS of people

Physically she is no longer here but her energy is everywhere, we can feel it every day.

Love you Maggie. Two years or two hundred, you’re always a part of us.

    ((((((hugs)))))

  3. I get it. It doesn’t get easier. Time lessens the hurt some what. But when you get right down to it I would rather have our girls back. You have helped a lot of people.
Maggie is with us here still.

  4. Yes Michelle..you have it nailed down…time lessens the hurt somewhat but I’d rather we have our girls back! 🙁
It puts tears in my eyes to know that Maggie is still helping new tripawd owners…I don’t get to the forums much any more…I feel so out of touch now 🙁 I sure do miss the tripawd community…VERY special place and people!

  5. That makes me feel so good that Maggie is still helping tripawd owners and their pups! That Maggie was a special one for sure and I’m glad she’s still helping others…it’s very touching to read this Rene…

  6. Awe, Sally, thank you for commenting….I love your comments…they always put me into tears 🙂 Happy tears…
Hope all is well with you and Merry Myrtle!

  7. Sending hugs to you as I know how hard it is. It’s been two years and I still cry regularly because I miss Daisy Duke so much. Be gentle with yourself – there is no timeline.

  8. Just want to remind you of the Tripawds Alumni thread that was started at Bonnie’s suggestion (Polly’s mom). We all felt like we know longer “belonged”, or had a reason to stay. Not sure how to describe it other than a other level of loss.

You, Maggie and all the others help make the site what it is…a place of shared hope, shared joy, shared compassion, shared grief and shared victories. Our dogs brought us all here for a reason…together…and together we shall carry on.

Check out Tripawds Alumni thread…you’ll find a whole lot of your extended family there. And we use the thread as a “reason” to ppst pictures every chance we get!!

    Sending love always!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!
