Good Weekend!

I had a good weekend…My Mom took me walking on our trail 3 days in a row!  I was a little weak after Friday’s walk, so we made our Saturday walk only 15 minutes..and then yesterday I got to go for a longer one again 🙂  My Mom takes me and my sister separately now for walks…cause I can’t go as far…but that’s really OK by me, cause my little sister, Haley, thinks she has to power walk the entire walk!  I don’t know why she hasn’t caught on to the fact, if you go slower, the walk lasts longer!  I like to stop and smell the bushes, look around and see if I can spot a deer or rabbit and just breathe in the fresh air!  So, walking with just me, is sorta like a “stroll” vs. “power walking” that Haley does!  Sometimes, I swear, that little sister of mine isn’t too swift 😉

Here’s a video clip of me enjoying my walk:

And me grooming the trail – I do what I can to help 🙂

My Mom got my “spin” and “twist” trick on tape so she could show everyone…you’ll see that I’m darn good at the “spin”…much to my amazement of my Mom.  I’m much stronger now, so not to worry, Mama…I CAN do it 🙂

Maggie

Author: maggie

Maggie was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma on her left knee. She had amputation done on October 20, 2009. Four days after surgery she had a low grade fever and was off her food for two weeks! Trying times.. I am grateful and so pleased with how she is progressing now.

  1. Gee, thanks Maureen! I hear my friend, Kody, is a ‘power walker’! Not sure I’d be able to keep up with her !!! 😉

  2. Oh, My Maggie you looks so good…..esp. since all your hair has grown back….your coat always is so beautiful!

I love the grooming the trails part…..Gemmie loves that part too! Two peas in a pod you two are!

    Hugs!

  3. Tracy,
    She looks really good!!
I know I’ve said this before but I am really impressed by her ‘twist’. My Mag could spin within a couple of days of surgery (its her BM process) but she still really has trouble turning to her left. My Mag has trouble following instructions too, but thats a different story!
    Keep up the great rehab.

  4. Too funny Karen! Hint: my Maggie is following instruction cause she was getting treats for doing so…that’s when she follows instructions the BEST! 😉

  5. Dear Auntie Gina –

I still have a ways to go with my hair growing in…but it’s getting there! Who’d a thunk it would take this long….3 months later and still signs of that awful surgery ..

  7. Awesome spin, Maggie! I wish my mom would teach me how to do that kind of stuff! You go, girl! Opie

  8. Maggie, you are looking fantastic! I love your videos! I remember the day Peyton decided to spin circles again for his breakfast and dinner! I think it made Mom cry she was so excited to see him do that after his amputation! Keep up the good work!

  9. My Mom has had those ‘crying moments’ too, Dillon, for what I think is silly…for me just walking in the woods with her again! Go figure..my Mom is sooooo emotional!
