Good Walk with my Golden Friends!

Today, me, Mom, little sister Haley and Papa went for a walk with my Mom’s friend and her two Goldens Maple and Woodie. I just LOVE Woodie…he and I are ‘buds’. We went for a walk on a woods road that wasn’t plowed but we’d driven down it to lay tracks down to walk in…but I was so into checking out everything and I’d go thru the fluffy snow just motoring along. My mom was always trying to get me to stay in the tracks! How am I supposed to check the smells out that way? We had a great walk with my Golden friends…my Mom said it was my longest walk yet and I didn’t look tired at all! But after a little rest, I was a little tired in my hindend…but a little more rest and I was back to normal. My Mom gave me another massage! I LOVE massages!!! 🙂

Maggie was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma on her left knee. She had amputation done on October 20, 2009. Four days after surgery she had a low grade fever and was off her food for two weeks! Trying times.. I am grateful and so pleased with how she is progressing now.

  1. Hey Jakesmom!
My Mom’s friend just sent me some, so I added to the post some pictures! Woodie is the handsome guy trotting toward the camera and Maple is the headshot…she’s 15 1/2 and and still going strong! And me, I think I’m looking pretty good attacking my stick! 🙂

  2. You go Maggie- you tell your mom tracks are for sissys!! I go anywhere I want… as long as someone will push my stroller.

  3. Hey Maggie,

If you and your pawrents ever come to interior Alaska, you have to tell me so we can get together. I am a bit jealous that a number of the tripawds live in Colorado and California and actually get together to play every once and awhile. I know there are a lot of tripawds in my town, but they don’t seem to be on this site.

Do you have any Karelian Bear Dog in you? I know you say you are a cowdog and that is cool, but you look a lot like the bear dogs that work with one of my mom’s coworkers. They sometimes go out to different villages to try to chase bears away from the towns, so they do not become a “nuisance bear” and have to be taken down.

They are a couple of buff looking dudes and they bark and snarl at me from inside their truck….I think they may be a little whacked because, what the heck, I’m not a bear….I was once mistaken for a red fox by another red fox, but that I can almost understand, but I look nothing like a bear. sheeesh.
